What is Age-Appropriate in Competitions?

Your competition/eisteddfod dances must be age appropriate. This means costume, choreography and music. A routine that's meant for a 16 year old shouldn't be done by an 8 year old., for instance. The dance must be suitable for the age of the child. The costume should not be too sophisticated, too revealing or too suggestive for children under 18 years. The music shouldn't contain themes or words that are too 'old' for children, (or expletives). Songs about suicide, car crashes, boyfriends, being 'sexy', lost love etc should not be performed under the age of 18 years as a solid grasp of feelings and concepts are needed in order to express these topics and themes in a dance.
